The Philippine Association of Martime Training Center Inc, or PAMTCI
is the largest network of maritime training center in the Philippines
providing world class tarining center in the country exceeding international standard and employing the latest method of training.
The Philippine Association of Maritime Training Centers, Incorporated (PAMTCI) is the umbrella organization of thirty eight (38) maritime training providers offering basic and upgrading safety and security courses for prospective and active seafarers, utilizing IMO Model Courses to comply with competency training requirements under the STCW ’95 as amended. PAMTCI members are accredited by the Maritime Training Council (MTC) and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
PAMTCI actualizes its vision through various programs and activities in the areas of training and research, resource sharing and meaningful information and knowledge exchange to promote the interest of its members and create a culture of professionalism and quality in the maritime industry. It has initiated programs geared towards development that included entering into Memorandum of Agreements with MARINA, MTC, CHED, PAMI and other concerned agencies to promote maritime safety and security through various trainings and undertakings both for domestic and overseas seafarers. As a proactive organization, the PAMTCI has been a part of the official Philippine delegation to the STW Meetings in London since 2007 when it was also granted the Observer status in the Maritime Training Council. Since 2007 it contributed to the framing of proposals by the Philippines in the Comprehensive Review of the STCW and the Code , preparatory to the Diplomatic Conference to be held this June 21-25,2010.
In recognition of its “being a stalwart partner of the MTC in upholding its mission to ensure quality education and training for Filipino seafarers,” the PAMTCI was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Maritime Training Council in 2009. To date, PAMTCI plays a crucial role in the training and certification of Trainers and lecturers in maritime academies and institutes in the country through the conduct of Trainors’ Training in IMO Model Course 6.09 and Assessors’ Training Workshop in Model Course 3.12.
